Hey Guys
Here’s a video cover version of the track ‘Training Montage’ from the film Rocky IV
that I recorded for my Album Re-Invention.
Check it out and let me know what you think:http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=W8xHjC27YvM

Impressive š Really cool stuff and i love the guitar sound on that! Great job m8!
EDIT: just listened to it 2 more times – they should put it in the movie š Btw. what synth samples did you use if it’s not a secret?
Cheers Pavel!
I do like the way this vid turned out and some of the syncing between the music and the
scenes seem to work really well. I especially like the scene where rocky is punching the speedball as it is
in perfect sync’ with the music. All by accident tho’ šHere’s the original
Ok so you basically took the original audio and added guitar and piano where you wanted to re-new it?
Anyway – turned out really great š
No, we completely rerecorded it, every part: drums bass keys synth guitar etc.
We wanted to keep it close to the original but give it a more modern twist. You definitely succeeded in that š
I guess you missed my question before: what samples did you use for synths? It sounds really great i can’t find anything similar š
That is awesome stuff Rick. You gave it such a cool sound. And man I love that theme music! I just love those simple yet memorable melodies.

Thanks a lot Pavel!
I used this:

Great unit, plus I added two expansion boards.
Thanks Sean! I’ve always loved the music so It was great when we finally finished it. We got a great response from the original composer, Vince DiCola, too which was amazing. I used to train to this all the time when I was into bodybuilding back in the mid-late 90’s. Havent trained for ages and have put on far too much weight recently so I need to get my ass into gear and get back in the gym.
Oh, the other thing I forgot to mention is that my brother played all the synth and keys parts in real time with no sequencing.
Great version of that song!! I used to do martial arts and loved training to that song haha but seriously Rick you did an amazing job re-creating the feeling of that song the Guitar sounds fantastic in it as does all of the instruments played… fantastic work!!
