    Hi guys,

I’m looking at bringing in an amp from the USA to be used in the UK and wondered if anyone has any experience with this – as I understand I should be able to use the amp using a transformer, without any wiring or mods to the amp itself – is this correct?

    Thanks a lot!

To my knowledge all amps now days use the same 240v kettle plug. The socket that goes into your wall at home will change from country to country, but of all the amps I have ever seen they use the same type lead. If anything, when the amp arrives you may need to buy a lead with the socket designed for you country. Which will cost about $5-10.

So to answer your question. No risky modifications will be required. To be sure though, check the manufacturer website. They should include some information on power sources if the connection is not standard.
