I got this cd for sometime ago and I’ve gotta say, that it’s definitively one of the best melodically advanced and groovey album I’ve heard. Now I’m not that experienced with different music styles, but the melodies, and improvisation presented on this album are just way too sweet. Jazz/funk anybody? I’ll take it any day.

I’ve been watching Victor Vooten for quite some time, but only his solo songs on youtube. What he presents with a band is much more amazing, because of how greatly those people supplement each other.

Victor Wootens brother is also an amazing guitarist! He’s a specialist in ‘Slap’ guitar.
I remember watching Victor’s tuition video years ago. I seem to remember him riding a unicycle a lot and juggling!! Did anyone else see that? Haha!

    Hey Tom,

Victor juggles on a unicycle? That’s nothing compared to our own fearless “multi-talent” Rick Graham, who can be routinely found tapdancing up to a golf tee-box and karate-chopping a golfball 320 yards down-the-middle of the fairway with one-hand, while playing every track from Guthrie Govan’s Erotic Cakes LP with the other hand! LOL!

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are amazing. True musicians playing true music!! I have their “Live at the Quick” DVD and it’s one of the most musically inspiring concerts I’ve seen.

And the Wooten brothers are excellent. It’s ridiculous how good Victor is on the bass. I’ll always love his Amazing Grace rendition too.

Indeed! Their music is a great pleasure both melodically and rythmically, and you just have to love how they mix different styles in their music!

    Hey Guys, šŸ™‚

I also agree with how amazing their amalgamation of styles truly is! They are interesting AND they are burning on a technical level also! Very musical stuff.

BTW, I remember a friend of mine showing me an OLD Bela Fleck & The Flecktones concert when they had a keyboard-player/harmonica player whose name (I believe?) was Howard Levy. Has anyone here at IG ever heard/seen him perform with Bela Fleck OR with anyone else over the last 20-years or so? Just curious. This guy (Howard Levy – Keys/Harp) was a MONSTER MUSICIAN! šŸ˜€
