Hello Everyone! š
I just got turned-on to this particular clip of Bret Garsed “tearing-it-up” on YouTube, and I must say, there were several “WTF-Moments!” (LOL!) for example, check out the 6 second-segment between (2:16 – 2:22.) It’s quite the “jaw-dropper!!!” š® š
I’d really like to see Tom Quayle take a stab at an “In The Style of Bret Garsed” Tutorial! (I know Tom has stated that he approaches his “legato/hybrid-picking” differently than Bret, but Tom seems like a logical fit to do a Garsed tutorial justice! I’m sure Rick, Richard, and Sean could all do a great job too, but Tom is such a smooth and relentless hybrid-picker that “he’s da man!” when it comes to this stuff! š
Here’s that Bret Garsed clip from YouTube:

Any thoughts or observations guys?

Man, I love Brett Garsed. I find his playing so tasteful and so classy and always beautifully balanced. He’s an awesome slide player too, which I love.
Thanks for the clip Bill!
Just as a sidenote, the Aussie guitarist Chris Brooks (amazing player and great bloke) has invited me to play on his next album alongside non other than Brett himself š® for me it’s an honour to be asked but another honour to share the same disc space with Brett. You might say a Double Whammy!!!p.s. Tom for BG tutorial!! no pressure Tom š
This is a clip from his first REH-video, classic clip this!
Insane playing! And don’t worry ’bout the Broks album =)
You’ll hold your own, I have no doubts! And Tom, DO feel some preassure bro =)

Hey Richard, š
I guess I never knew that Bret Garsed did an REH Instructional Video?!? So what do you know about this video/dvd? Is it good? Is it accesible in terms of instruction, or is it insanely advanced/difficult? I’m just curious. Anyways, any info/thoughts you might have would be greatly appreciated Richard!

Hey Rick, š
You know that you have NO bigger fan than I! I’ve been telling you that you belong in the company of those greats, so I’m NOT at all surprised to hear about your guest appearance opportunity! Awesome man! Can’t wait to hear the outcome. You’ll fit “right-in” next to the likes of Bret Garsed! š š

The video is called “Rock Fusion” and although it is at a pretty high level, it’s
and EXCELLENT starting point for his style, and hybrid picking. Highly recommended!
Way more accessible than the Holdsworth REH at any rate =)
Should you not be able to dig it up, let me know and we’ll solve that problem.@Richard Lundmark 6734 wrote:

Thanks for the quick reply & info! I should’ve known it would be a good vid! I’ll try to buy the dvd (legit!) so as to support the artist, but if I have problems getting it, I’ll let you know, and maybe we can work something out! (LOL!) š
thanks again bro! š
BTW, I hope I was clear that you too could do a great “In The Style of Bret Garsed” Tutorial here at IG! I mentioned Tom Q. because of obvious “stylistic” tendencies (legato/hybrid.) š

Hey bro, thanks for the vote of confidence =) But I stopped developing my hybrid picking beyond simple pentatonic string-skipping and country-ideas a long time ago =) I wouldn’t stand a snowballs chance in hell of nailing those arpeggio things that Brett (or Tom for that matter) does! š
