    Hey All,

I’ve been working on this solo for some time now. Let me me know what you think.

Apologies for the low video quality and the sound as well. I really should invest more time in improving my sound, but I figure thats best done with some new equipment. šŸ˜€

Some parts in this solo still needs more work and I have them down as exercises which I practice from time to time. But I’m satisfied with my goal of learning “entire songs/solos” as opposed to just learning licks.

    Cheers!

    Hey Rohan, šŸ™‚

I actually don’t know this song by name, but it has a nice rock-ballad sound to it, and Satch’s phrasing is awesome (as usual!) I thought your legato work was excellent in this Ro! I know I’ve gotten on you in the past about “laying into” your vibrato a little more aggressively, but that’s just my preference. For a delicate song like this, your more “subtle” vibrato is probably more appropriate. I LOVED the note-slides you did (there was a lot of those – another “Satch-staple!”) I didn’t think your tone was bad, but on a few of the really high-pitched notes, it seemed like you could’ve maybe used a bit more sustain (I don’t know if you’ve ever tried using a compressor in line with your guitar, but that’s one way to get more sustain out of a NOT too-distorted guitar-tone. Guys who solo with a clean sound a lot IE: {The late} Jerry Garcia, Trey Anastasio, as well as the Nashville-types like Brent Mason – and many others I’m sure – all use compressors to add sustain to clean-tones as well as control the transient amplitude-spikes associated with cleaner/higher-headroom sounds!) Anyways, it might be worth experimenting with if you prefer “un-saturated” guitar-tones. šŸ˜‰

    All-in-all – well done my friend! šŸ˜Ž
