    Hey all,

Just wondering what everyone’s favorite guitar solo is. Doesn’t have to be
rock, could be any style of music.

Mine is Buckethead’s solo on Nottingham Lace.

    Thanks.

    Hey,
My Favorite is slash’s guitar solo in “November rain” in the video. This man that brings back memories. I am learning Piano from Piano Lesson, These are piano lessons, but not the boring piano lessons of the past. Instead, these are DVD and CD piano lessons so you can hear and see what each finger should do and what each chord looks like. You’ll love these piano lessons! You’ll view your old sheet music with new eyes and new ideas for exciting piano playing!

    Thanks!!

So many great guitar solos! But to name the Santana solo I like best, it is from “Shades of Time” on the first album. Very subtle and understated, but clearly captures both a blues-rock and a Latin flavor. Tasty!

In fact, the whole first album (Santana by Santana) is pretty darn cool!

This is actually quite and easy question if you’ve heard enough music

    Scott Henderson – Dolemite

The PERFECT example of how to develop a solo over many choruses, hits some hip outside sounds and cool fusion lines but never treading too far away from thats SRV blues vibe…. MASTER

Here’s a top 5 for me, in rough order:

Can’t You Hear Me Knocking – Mick Taylor of the Stone puts on a clinic of tone and taste.
Life Without You – SRV – my favorite SRV solo. Not super fast, but incredibly melodic and emotional. You just can’t bend any better. Amazing tone, too.
Machine Gun – Hendrix – the whole performance is stunning, but when he hits that long feedback’d note it’s magic.
For The Love of God – Steve Vai – this solo is one of my “Holy Grail” pieces I’d like to pull off note-for-note at tempo some day. Inspired me to play back in the day, and it’s still great. The song is cool, but the solo was one of those “wow, this is what I want to do” type of moments.
Cortez The Killer – Neil Young – one of my favorite guitar tones, and a great raw, emotional performance that gets the melancholy mood of the song across perfectly.

My choice of some favorite solos are

Stairway to heaven by Jimmy Page
    Freebird by collins/rossington
November rain by Slash (Guns N’ Roses)
    Little wing by Jimi Hendrix
All along the watchtower by Jimi Hendrix
    Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd

Angus Young – You Shook Me All Night Long
