So like the title says, what are some of your all-time favorite movies and, if you can, tell why.
For me, I’d say my all time favorite is Goodfellas, and it is mainly due to Robert Deniro. I guess I enjoy that as much as I do because of me being of mainly Italian heritage and really pride myself on it, even if that movie does give a negative stereotype to Italian-Americans. But It’s just so powerful and captivating that you can’t help but be drawn into it and appreciate and see how they were able to live like that.
I mean come on, who WOULDN’T want that kinda power?
Another one would have to be The Lion King, which I have just now gotten a renewed interest in. In my eyes, it’s Disney’s crowning achievement, and wish I could remember seeing it when i was 8. One night I just casually downloaded it and watched it and just from that one time… I was hooked again. And it was not only due to the animation, but also the content, the personality of each character, the direction of the movie, and the musical score. (music nerd answer). Just the opening arrangement of Circle of Life was just so incredibly captivating that even now it brings tears to my eyes when I listen to it. Hans Zimmer will always be my favorite film score composer, and that movie is tribute to it.
I even took one of the songs from the album “Rhythm Of The Pride Lands” (which are songs inspired from TLK) called “He Lives In You” and transcribed as much as I could, mainly the bass and keyboards, and arranged parts for piano, guitar and 4 part choir with lead vocals, just basic SATB format. but I’m really proud of it and will try to get a recording of it once it’s all put together and performed with me conducting (hopefully) and playing electric guitar.
Sorry…got off track there for a bit. hahaha. This old fool does tend to ramble on sometimes don’t he?

Goodfellas is one of the only films that after I had watched it for the first time, I watched it again straight after.
Without doubt one of my all time favs.Tough question.
Probably my favourite science fiction is 2001: A Space Odyssey, or the sequel, 2010. Can’t decide.
Comedy: Got to by Monty Python’s Holy Grail.
Action: Saving Private Ryan.
General awesome award: Rambo. Poor film? Maybe. Hilarious film? Yes.
My fave Movie is a bit obvious but Lord of the Rings trilogy is my all time fave movie I love the books and have read them probably 20 times lol hoping they make The hobbit as this would make a fantastic movie š
My favourite film of all time is Robocop. I remember seeing it in the cinema when it came out in the late 80’s and being really impressed.
The satirical humour and the way the film was done (effects, direction, photography, music) were really stand out for me!

There are some amazing scenes and quotes in that film. The Shawshank Redemption – is one of my all time favourites. One of those films that when you hear the title you think why would I be interested in that? But when you watch it ………….Incredible work and great score too.
I’ll second the Shawshank Redemption. Amazing film.
I have tons of favorite movies. As far as recent ones, I absolutely love 300. Also, Cloverfield was a huge hit with me.
Some of my all time favorites include Braveheart, Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, The Hurricane, Batman Begins, Cinderella Man, and there’s definitely more but I’m drawing a blank right now. I’m totally into epics and movies based on true stories. Love that stuff.
One of my favorites would have to be The Warriors.
