And this will be my first ever live Dream Theater experience. Seeing them in oakland on the progressive nation tour with opeth, between the buried and me, and 3.

I’m not the hugest DH fan out there, but I really love petrucci and list him among my personal top 5 players. I’m looking forward to “opeth” and “between the buried and me” as well. Though I’m not extremely familiar with either of these bands stuff what I’ve heard in the past I’ve liked.

I’ll try to get some pics.

After the show Petrucci actually looked at me, smiled and gave me thumbs up, which was the highlight of my entire life, LOL. You simply HAVE to see them live.

And hey, if you ever do recordings of yourself singing Petrucci’s solos, be sure to post them in the forum. haha

If I ever do..this will be the first place I post them, haha

Fretdancer69: Yeah man, it was amazing. Him and Marco Sfogli are my BIGGEST influences. People may call me weird for freaking out over it, but he’s been my idol for so long, so it means the world.

I get to see them live at the end of the month and can’t wait!

Then there’s Symphony X and Firewind coming to town. I swear the metal community is trying to bankrupt me.

Hahaha, can we get a subforum for that? That’d be hilareous, start a whole trend of vocal guitar solos.

I know the feeling. I was at a metal band’s concert about 8 months ago and during the encore the vocalist spend majority of the song literally IN my face (no really, I’ve never had a man inside my head before, but he did it) screaming and I screams and it was glorious. We scream the whole song, note for note, lyric for lyric. That was amazing.

Then I saw them again at the same place about a month ago. He remembered me and we got to talk afterwards. Been following the band for 10 years now I think, and that was the first I’ve ever gotten to talk to him.

That’s amazing man! It’s really cool that he still remembers you too.

James LaBrie looked at me a lot during the show while singing, and I thought I was gonna faint, haha.
