Hey,
After much deliberation and budget crunching I finally made up my mind and bought a Line6 POD XT around a week back.
And you can read more about it here –
http://line6.com/podxt/To be honest, I’ve not really dived into it yet, but I’m more than pleased with what this processor can offer. Recording guitar sounds into the computer works amazingly well, and the POD XT is perfect for starting with a home studio.
The manual is superb! It reads like a novel. Grab a beer and you’re set. It has good humour thrown in too. The guys/gals at Line6 are definitely guitar/sound maniacs and the manual is testament to this fact.
Although its a bit expensive, its well worth the investment. Considering all the amp models and effects are modeled in software, they do provide patches and more amp models which you can buy.
My conclusions?
1) The POD XT is a marvel of electrical, sound and software engineering
2) Line6 is great at product marketing! šCheers!
Rohan

Yes! Excellent choice Rohan. The POD XT is awesome. I agree with the compliments of Line 6 too. They’re a great company.
Have fun with the new toy and be sure to post a couple recordings sometime!
Hey Rohan, š
I just got a POD-XT Live about 6 weeks ago, and it’s GREAT! Just last week I used it in a professional environment for the first time (I got hired for a songwriter’s demo project of three (3) songs.) and it worked GREAT! Straight into an M-BOX using Pro-Tools LE. Very nice! š
Anyways, best of luck, and I think you’ll be able to get a lot of use out of it. š
Also, I agree with your assessment of Line 6 as a company! š

Thanks guys!
I couldn’t resist putting together a recording with the POD XT. Do give it a listen. Note its through POD > Marshall Amp > Line out > PC and not the USB stuff.

RohanNice sound and nice groove! Did you create the entire track with drums and bass?
Throw some cocky vocals in there, a bridge and you have a cool song.@hscalfo 7154 wrote:

Hey Enrico, š
LOL! š

Yeah, two guitar tracks each panned 70% left/right. Bass is normal guitar with EQ applied (via the POD) to make it sound like a bass š® Drums is a pattern stolen from the Hydrogen drum machine software.
Hey Ro, š
Nice groove bro! Excellent rhythm tone too! š

RohanSounds pretty good. I have a Podxt also, had it for a few years, at first i was ready to send it back before i even gave it a try. All the tweaking, i wasn’t use to. After finding a few good patches i was like YEAH, it can sound good. That’s when i really started tweaking it.
Line6 is really making some good quality stuff, atleast IMO. Enjoy your new toy man! Also, you said …line out?? Did you mean line in?
