Got a new amplifier!

So a few days ago, after finding out that my main amp was completely toast and that the amp I had been using in my band was going to be picked up by the guy who originally owns it, I decided to go out and buy a new amp.

So I made a trip to Guitar Center to try a few out in the price range and sound that I was looking for. After trying out a few Marshalls, a Vox, a Line 6 and some Peaveys, I made the decision to get the Peavey Valveking 112.

Not only is it all tube but it was really in my price range and it can pull off the Metal that I need as well as straight jazz, blues and funk. It’s got the power I need and has alot of punch but also small and light enough that I could take with me into small clubs. It made it’s debut on Wednsday live on WMSE, a local radio station that hosted my band live on it’s Metal Night. I think after that gig I’m going to throw my vintage DOD overdrive pedal in front of it to give it the kick that I need.

Anyways, time to get back to practicing. I need to get ready for my scholarship audition for the conservatory tomorrow afternoon. šŸ˜€

Congrats on the new amp Rob! You should post a sound clip of it if you have one. šŸ™‚

And best of luck with the audition. Let us know how it goes!

If I can get my camera back from my friend, I’ll do a little tone video of it. Now I just have to buy a new 4×12 cab for gigs because the amp speaker output is set for 15 ohms minimum and the one I use a rehearsal is only for 8 ohms.
