Hi!
My name is Einar, I’m a jazz/fusion guitarist from Norway. 😎
At the moment I’m studying jazz and this page makes it a lot easier.I’m a huge fan of players like Scott Henderson, Michael Landau, John Scofield, Guthrie Govan, Allen Hinds, Terje Rypdal, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Greg Howe, Allan Holdsworth and Thorgeir Stubø. (this is just some of them) – and a lot of jazz/fuison player on any instrument.
I focus mainly on writing and improvising jazz and fusion, but I’ve been known to play anything as long as it sounds good.
I mainly play suhr guitars, but I also use Gibsons, Fenders, Sadowsky, Epiphone and Flaxwood guitars if and when my economy will allow it. (I’ve had a lot of guitars, but not that many at the same time;)
I also use Mesa, Dr Z, Fuchs, Fender, Bogner, Suhr, and Demeter Amps.
As you may have understood, I’m quite a gearhead. It’s both a curse and a blessing 😎I hope to get to know some of you, because I think I’ll be spending a lot of time here.
Great page with great instructors, and if the community is as great as it seems I wont be leaving any time soon 😀And by the way, English is not my first language, so if I mispell something, either ignore it, or point it out so I can learn from my mistakes 😉
Cheers!

Welcome to IG Einar!
I tell you what, if you’re into jazz/fusion and play Suhr and Flaxwood, you’re going to love it here! You might already know that Tom Quayle and Rick Graham both recently got new Suhrs, and Rick and Richard Lundmark are also endorsed by Flaxwood.
Great to have you here man and see you around!
SeanThanks Sean!
I’ve been watching both Rick and Tom’s youtube videos for quite some time know, and in the new suhr jam videos I noticed that they both linked to this site – and that’s why I decided to check it out 🙂
I’ve already learned a lot, and I can’t wait to practice structured with these lessons as help.
I recently checked out TQs sus chord/visualising pentatonics and “playing out” lessons, and some of the tips there blew my mind. 🙂Here’s a link with some of my playing – not the best, but it’ll do for now. 😀

Just kidding! Welcome, and awesome playing!
Hey Einar!
Welcome to IG man! Fantastic playing and I have to say I love your choice in guitars. 😉 I’m really glad you’re enjoying the lessons so far. Let us know if you have any requests and they’ll be added to the list.
Again, great playing – hope to see lots more of your playing around the forums.
All the best,
Tom
P.s. – You’re English is awesome. I lived with Norwegians for 5 years whilst doing my jazz degree and after and all you guys seem to have amazing English skills.

Thanks, that means a lot coming from you! 🙂
I’ll let you know if there’s something you haven’t covered yet!
I haven’t browsed through all the videos yet, but a lesson about melodic and rythmic motifs and contour in playing would be great. It’s kind of basic, but it’s is such a big part of improvisation and writing that it should be covered, if only a 5 min talk about Scott Hendersons playing 😀Where did you get you degree? In Norway? MI? Liverpool? I know a bunch of people who have studied at the Paul McCartney school for instance, seems to be one of the greats! 🙂

No problem mate – you’re obviously a great player. I did my degree at Leeds College of Music back in 1999. Back then it was a very well respected conservatoire. There are a lot of Norwegians that come to the college – I still teach there and there’s some great players. I wanted to do a pure Jazz degree and I’m glad I did – I actually worked as a pro jazz player for a number of years after graduating but my interests returned to fusion.
A motif based lesson would be a great idea – I’ll add it to the list!
Cheers,
Tom
