You play great man, but I have to say, lately I’ve been more and more adverse to Howe’s playing. Don’t know what it is, but recently his playing sounds more and more “choppy”, like he’s overdoing his “funky” vein. It is broken down rhythmically to the point where he loose groove and it just sounds staccato and choppy rather than groovy and funky. But, maybe that’s just me =)

    hey richard! thanks for watching!

i have to agree with you. starting on that dvd with tetsuo sakurai…. my vision of greg changed somehow… (i can’t criticize him about that performance…. when i play live, i suck big time)
he is still great, the last cd is good, with some good moments, but not the same as it use to be…
    you rock richard! cheers.

    Hey Andy! šŸ™‚

Awesome job my friend! Greg Howe is AMAZING and so rhythmically interesting (besides the obvious VICIOUS CHOPS! – LOL!) You do a great job of capturing his speed AND rhythmic complexity! Also, thanks for the SLOW run-through! That’s great for those of us who might be interested in learning it (I’ll probably pass on this one for now, just ‘cuz I have so much other stuff to work on!) and for those of us who are TEMPO-CHALLENGED (definitely ME!!!) So kudos for that! šŸ˜‰

Keep up the AWESOME playing Andy! You South American cats can REALLY play! (LOL!) šŸ˜Ž

    Hi,

Andy, very nice video. Thanks for that slow part. Definitely a future project of mine to study these licks.
