It was in London š
Yup it was in London.
Here are a couple cool performances by the big guns:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrnmViZadn4The guitar idol finals really were a very high standard and although I enjoyed some more than others, it’s safe to say that there were some monster players and musicians who did a great job live.
I managed to meet some of them including Muris Varajic, Tom Quayle, Chris Feener, Lyle Watt, Ben Randall, Gustavo Di Padua. All of them were genuinely nice guys who were praising other people more than themselves and it really was a pleasure to meet them all. Definitely some names for the future of guitar playing. Respect to Owen and the guys too for putting it all together and showing that it’s about doing something you love rather than winning. The ‘big guns’ somehow eluded me over the weekend which is crazy really as I particularly love Satch and Malmsteen as well as GG
I was there (met Rick too) but I got there far too late to see the Guitar Idol thingy as I couldn’t be bothered to get up that early to drive to London. My have been a poor decision on my part.
Also missed Yngwie as I was busy buying a Boss GT-10 that I can’t really afford and I had just seen Satch with Paul Gilbert in Birmingham a few weeks before so I didn’t see the point in splashing out again to see him. Paul Gilbert was awesome though, as was Guthrie and Billy Sheehan. I was kind of hoping Gilbert and Sheehan would perform together but obviously that didn’t happen.
I saw Muris when I was embarassing myself playing the Caparison Applehorn guitar but I was too shy to say anything to him.
