Hi Guys,
I have been a member for almost 3 mths now and mostly lurking and spending my time in the lessons area of Infinite Guitar. Thought it was about time to introduce myself.
Great website and learning materials. The moment i knew who the instructors were, i signed up immediately.
Alot of great players on the board and nice to meet all of you.
Here are some vids i have of my playing. 2 live performances and 1 of my recent half assed try over a Tom Quayle track.

Hi Brandon, š
I had never heard of you until about an hour ago, but you have instantly become one of my favorite guitarists/musicians here at Infinite Guitar!!! š
I REALLY dig your style a lot. I’m always hoping to hear players who play aggressively AND musically, have GREAT tone/vibrato/expressive-elements, choose the right notes, and play with an impeccable sense of timing! You seem to possess ALL of these GREAT traits man! š I actually laughed a bit to myself when I read a list of your influences (on your MySpace page), because it ALL made sense to me! Like I figure you got your bluesy feel/bends/vibrato from the likes of SRV, Hendrix, Lukather, Landau, etc. Perhaps you got your aggressive attack and style from digging players like Lukather, Nuno, and SRV (Isn’t that “Live at the El MaCambo” performance otherworldly?!? I swear to God, I must’ve watched that concert about 60 – 70 times over the years – LOL!) Then I figure you got that smoothness from guys like Brett Garsed and Allan Holdsworth. Also, perhaps you got some shred and tapping ideas from the likes of Greg Howe, Steve Vai, and Nuno Bettencourt! Then I suppose you’ve delved into the “fusiony” stuff from listening to and learning from Scott Henderson, Holdsworth, Garsed, Howe, (And more recently, Tom Quayle, am I correct?!? – BTW, EXCELLENT job jamming over TQ’s backing-track! I enjoyed that! BTW, I did a transcription of a Tom Quayle improvisation – from when he first got his Suhr guitar! It was quite a project, and since I’m NOT an overly accomplished player, it was very difficult for me, but I had fun doing it anyways! If your interested in checking it out – even though I suspect you probably just play stuff by ear and don’t rely much on others’ transcriptions! – Let me know, OK?) š
Oh BTW, what’s that Splawn amp all about? You get AWESOME tone (which I KNOW is mostly in one’s hands and ears!) Anyways, is that amp perhaps some sort of Marshall Plexi-type amp that I’ve never heard of?
Anyways, your an excellent player, and since you’re NOT and old-geezer like I am, you have plenty of time to improve and develop even further, which is awesome! š
Enjoy Infinite Guitar, and please continue to post-up some of your GREAT guitar playing, OK? š
~Bill Meehan~ š
Hi Bill,
Thanks for the warm welcome, kind words and checking out the music. Appreciate it .
The amp is a Splawn Quickrod. You can check them out here.

Great sounding marshall-type amps. There are 3 modes on the amp, lets me get, Plexi, Hot-rodded plexi and Hot-rodded JCM800 type of gain tones. There is also a clean channel. They aren’t too famous but i love the sound and how it reacts to my playing.
Would love to have that Tom Quayle transcription you got. Any Tom Quayle stuff i can get my hands on, will definitely help me to improve. Even if i am not able to play it. Lol.
damn i just realized my webpage is down. Even though i have paid my bills. Stupid host. Just sent in an email. Hope to get it up soon.
Dude, excellent playing! Very tasty. Welcome man, it’s great to have you here.
Where were you playing in the first two vids? Looks like a pretty cool backdrop for a set!
And the most important thing here is that you’re a Calvin and Hobbes fan. The best comic ever. š
See you around!
SeanHey Brandon,
Welcome! You have an awesome sound, and a very neat looking (and sounding) website!
Cheers!

Hey Brandon,
This is a description of how to get a hold of all the files associated with the Tom Quayle Transcription that you recently requested. I completed the transcription (using the Finale music-transcription software) in November, 2009. This transcription represents a one-minute-and-twenty-four-second segment of the improvisation that Tom posted on YouTube of him trying out his (then) new Suhr Standard Custom guitar. š
I would suggest getting VERY familiar with this improvisation/solo by checking out the YouTube video whose URL/link is shown below (BTW, the transcription is of the segment from (2:10) to (3:34). If you have a way to make a copy of the audio of this video/demo, it would definitely make working on the solo – with the transcription – a LOT easier – LOL! Here’s the link to Tom’s YouTube video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBPPSSlE5JY
Here’s the lowdown:
In a nutshell, I used a compressed Winzip file (TQ_BM_Transcription.zip) which contains the ten (12) related files in total which are related to this project:
– Rhythm/Accompaniment Transcription in Finale (.mus) and Adobe (.pdf) formats = 2 files
– Solo/Improv Transcription (Standard Tuning) in Finale (.mus) and Adobe (.pdf) formats = 2 files
– Solo/Improv Transcription (Fourths Tuning) in Finale (.mus) and Adobe (.pdf) formats = 2 files
– Rhythm/Accompaniment Transcription’s MIDI Playback in (.mp3) and (.wav) = 2 files
– Solo/Improv Transcription’s MIDI Playback in (.mp3) and (.wav) = 2 files
– Theory/Analysis of Improv relative to Accompaniment in Microsoft Word (.doc) = 1 file
– A READ_ME_FIRST file explaining what-to-do and the zip-file’s contents (.txt) = 1 file
To access and download the zip-file (and subsequently the aforementioned twelve (12) related-files) to view/read the transcription and the accompanying analysis-notes, simply paste the following link into your address-bar:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/hyumyl…nscription.zip
NOTE: Once you’ve been successfully re-directed to the filehosting website, you’ll be prompted to “Click Here to START DOWNLOAD” in a “click-icon-box” just below (and to the right a little) of a large-font printout of the zip-file (TQ_BM_Transcription.zip) near the top of the screen.
Once you’ve successfully downloaded the zip-file (TQ_BM_Transcription.zip), extract the twelve (12) files into a folder you’ll be comfortable working in/from, (I’d suggest starting with a new/empty folder) and then (first) read the file titled: IG_READ_ME_FIRST.txt. After reading that, you’ll have an idea what your options are, and then you can view/read whichever files meet your needs.
Best of luck with the download and ENJOY!!!
Also, feel free to give me your feedback/opinion!!!

SeanHi Sean,
I was playing at an out door amphitheater right in front of a river. It was a pretty cool place to play at, provided it did not rain. š
Yes! Big Calvin and Hobbes fan. Just bought the 3 volume box set not too long ago. Now i have every comic strip that was ever written.

Thanks for all the hard work Bill. Unfortunately the link for the transcription is down. Will get it from you again when you have the time to upload.

Hey Brandon, š
Since most of the members that have been here at Infinite Guitar for a while (and who are Tom Quayle fans – and who wouldn’t be, right?!?) already have a copy of my transcription-files. Therefore, I decided to just g-mail it directly to you as an attachment to your last g-mail reply back to me, OK? š
I apologize to anyone else who also tried to download the necessary zip-file, only to be shunned/shutout from being able to download it properly?!?
Thus, if any other (perhaps newer) members here at Infinite Guitar are interested in the aforementioned Tom Quayle Improvisation Transcription, let me know, and I’ll figure out how to get it to you (e-mail/g-mail perhaps…) OK? š

Hello Brandon, š
I’m hoping that since you posted this, you’ve been able to successfully fetch/download the attachment that I e-mailed to you? Let me know either way, OK?
