I won’t say download cause it’s illegel but you can buy Guitar Pro
which is a software for writing songs which also used as a software for song learning
cause people upload GPX files that contain tabs the software can read to thousand of songs all over the world…
you get the software and get the tabs for any song at sites as ultimate-guitar.com or 911tabs.comanyway, I used to learn mostly from this software, but lately I’m trying to get things buy ear..

so you think guitarpro is worth it? iv been hearing it is but its expensive
A Little tip I learned when I started was to listen to the bass notes of the chords being played… so instead of trying to learn the chords right away just play the notes on your bottom E string, then when you have an idea of the how the song goes try to listen for a major sounding or minor sounding chords and so on.. plus take notes of the notes/chords being played in the song etc.. give that a try and start off with simple songs… hope thats of some help š

Its totally worth it, i have it and its great, and not only for learning songs, but for speed practicing, score composition, chords, scales, etc. Theres alot of stuff on it!
Learning by ear is very usefull, when i want to learn songs i usually look at tabs first ( most of the tabs are wrong on internet ) so i try to get the good notes instead of the wrong notes discribed on the tabs, first off all try to listen very good to the song, try to find the bass notes what most important and find in what key the song is.. i hope this helped you a bit..

I like Guitar Pro because you can edit the tab to be correct when you find wrong notes or you can easily transpose notes to different strings to get it to play easier.
GuitarPro is vital. I had to rebuy it after my computer was stolen, and I have no second thoughts about it.

I only recently started learning things by ear.. best way is to first Identify the scale being used, most songs don’t use more than one scale in a song š
Than focus on finding the main notes(the ones starting and ending phrases) and after slowely try figuring the notes in between, keeping in mind to try and make it comfortable to land on that last note in the phrase!
I hope this helped š
For reading guitarpro-files you can use a freeware programm called “TuxGuitar”
I’ve never tried it, but it looks good šFor learning song, I mostly do a mix by ear and tabs, but at first I always try it by ear and if it doesn’t work, I look up for some tabs and do it like visi0n š

This is actually a good idea. I’m not good at learning by ear yet so I will try this out sometime.
