The Hubble deep field is absolutely fascinating. We have a telescope and were really big into astronomy a couple of years ago. When first seeing the deep field and all of those “other” galaxy’s in addition to ours, I was floored. They say that the deep field photo represents an area in the sky so small that if you put a grain of salt on your finger, then held your finger a full arms length away from you, THEN looked at that grain of salt, that grain of salt would represent the amount of space in the Hubble deep field photo. So, just how many “other ” galaxys would be behind two (2) grains of salt at arms length away, 3 grains ……….4………50…….etc…
Its a BIG BIG universe out there. Luke Skywalker, are you out there?
