Well, if you go into your local guitar store and pick up a Suhr guitar, you are endorsing them by purchasing their products, and using them onstage and otherwise. You most often end up paying full price, apart from whatever deal your local dealer might give you.
if the company endorses YOU on the other hand, you most often get the stuff for free, or at a considerable discount, and are often able to have you pick and choose of custom shop features, or if you are very high up the ranks, even have your own signature model produced.
PS. OF course when you ARE being endorsed by say SUhr guitars, you are also by definition endorsing THEM as well in such case.
