Hey moeid,
I think your request is an excellent one! I believe that a “Whammy-Bar Lesson” should probably be broken down into 3 sub-categories:
1. Expressive Monophony – Single-Note melodic expression (a la Jeff Beck, Shawn Lane, Steve Vai, etc.)
2. Expressive Polyphony – Multi-Note chordal-expression (a la SRV’s “Lenny”, etc)
3. Special Effects – Crazy-Creative-Tricks – a la EVH’s “elephant-sound”, Steve Vai’s “faux-vocal-reproduction”, Harmonic-Tricks by the likes of EVH, Dime, Satch, Vai, Kerry King, the “stiff-arm-flutter” by Brad Gillis, etc. ***Perhaps the Digitech-Whammy Pedal could be included hear as a footnote (pun intended!) to the Special-Effects category?!? (a la Tom Morello & Dime, etc.)
Well guys, what do you think of a breakdown like that? Does that seem to cover the bases? Let me know what you guys think, OK?
Thanks!

hey billmeedog,
That would make a perfect lesson divided into 3 categories and yeah i think IG instructors would come up with a very cool lesson themselves as they always do:)Yes, these guys are great aren’t they? I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed by an IG lesson! They’re SO diverse and always well-prepared, IMO.
Peace!

NO replies from any IG instructor..:o..do look up my request soon..
Peace!
Cool idea moeid! My current guitars unfortunately don’t have the proper bridge setup to get really good whammy bar squeals etc. Perhaps another instructor might be able to jump on this sometime soon. We’ll definitely keep this idea in mind!
Also, for future reference, you may want to submit future lesson requests in the premium member forum. The instructors browse there a little more often than the public forum.
Thanks man! š
