How many people here have a Guitar Port? And if you don’t have one, do you want one in the future?
I think the Guitar Port is just an amazing piece of equipment. Makes my recording life much easier in so many ways. Especially taking the affordable price into account, I have yet to see another piece of equipment that offers so many features and options. I love being able to just plug it in my computer, then I’m set to record direct with whatever sound I want.
I think they now sell GP with recording and instrument sampling software too. I have yet to try the new version out, but I’m sure it’s great stuff, especially for beginner recording artists.
What can I say, I love that little red port. š

I have a Line 6 toneport gx, which I bought recently
I’m more than satisfied with this thing, it offers a lot for a low expenseand it’s probably the most suitable piece of recording equipment for me to start with
a lot of presets, a lot of fx and which impressed me the most – online library of guitar soundsalso, I tested how similar guitar sounds are with the ones from the recordings and/or live show of famous guitar players and I was simply amazed!
90% of similarity would be my fair judgement, which is great
Well Sean, you know I have one and I’m sure you know how much I love this thing.
It’s also a great practicing tool as well.
Rob, I forgot, did you get Rifftracker with it as well or did you just get the unit? I’m curious as to how good the recording software is that comes with it now. I’d imagine it gets the job done pretty well.

Naw, mine didn’t come with rifftracker. I’m not sure which version it has it on. The one I got was version 2.51
Wow I was looking for something like this. I currently use a V-Amp2 for when I’m on the road but this appears to be more portable and with USB connectivity a bit better for software integration. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? i.e. which model has the most bang for the buck?
Got a TOneport GX myself.
Listen, why not trade patches with each other?
I’m sure many of you guys have dialed in some awezome sounds =)I mostly use modified presets in gearbox…I really don’t like too much treble recently, so I turn it down almost instantly…
richard, I don’t have any sounds saved, but would like to hear what you made for toneport:rolleyes:
Richard doesn’t need any patches. In fact, he doesn’t need an amp too.
Why?Flaxwood.
I’m with richard..
I’d love to get some of your guys patches. š
I have a pod xt live so is it pointless to get guitar port?
Yep.
Same thing.. just the XT is hardware while the guitarport requires software.
Thnx TJ!
Actually, I have just this moment downloaded the software so I can download an upload patches after years of never using it via usb.
Time to do some digging to see If I can get some good patches…….
If any of you guys have any to start with that’ll be cool šAh man this is nuts how easy this is to use. I can’t believe that, through laziness, I never bother to hook it up thru usb….This is gonna keep me occupied for some time. š
No way Rick!! I never knew you didn’t use the software. hahaha. Well yeah man now that you know about the software it’s gotta be like a whole new toy.
Have fun! š
EDIT: I still can’t believe it lol. You’ve had it for YEARS and never hooked it up?
It’s true man. When I first bought it (prob 4 or 5 years ago) I was using some other software for a synth via usb for editing sounds and I had so many probs with it crashing the pc etc, I stayed away from usb and software editing. Kind of ‘once bitten twice shy’.
What I tended to do with it is just tweak the presets to something I liked which is kind of what I’m doing today but it’s fantastic to have so many presets at your disposal by people who are aiming for a specific sound so it makes life much easier.
Man, I’m havin’ some fun…………. and Ill be sure to post some of my stuff too š
