How many people here have a Guitar Port? And if you don’t have one, do you want one in the future?
I think the Guitar Port is just an amazing piece of equipment. Makes my recording life much easier in so many ways. Especially taking the affordable price into account, I have yet to see another piece of equipment that offers so many features and options. I love being able to just plug it in my computer, then I’m set to record direct with whatever sound I want.
I think they now sell GP with recording and instrument sampling software too. I have yet to try the new version out, but I’m sure it’s great stuff, especially for beginner recording artists.
What can I say, I love that little red port. š

OK, this is the main patch I’ve been using for rock leads and stuff, sometimes with a bit of tweaking and always applying some eq and compression in the mix.
Let me know your thoughts.Edit: Here’s a track I recorded with that same patch

Let me know what you guys think
Wow, Rick, I never listened to the track in your profile, but it’s killer!
Can you provide it as mp3 ? Or maybe even make a lesson of it ?Hey Max, Thanks a lot, glad you like it!
If you want the mp3 just let me know but it’s a good idea making a lesson from it tho.Is that what the instructors use to record for their lessons? Because ive been thinking of picking one up and if you have a suggestion on which one to get there is the Guitar Port and Guitar Port Riff Tracker? So if you know about any of these please let me know! Starting to get sick of the old line out of the head to mixing board to comp, just doesnt sound good!
Thanks

AJWell, I know it’s what Sean uses to record his, and he get’s a superb sound out of it. I also use one as well. Guitar Port and a POD work pretty much the same way, but with a POD you get a bit more versatility. But a Guitar Port is all I had been able to afford and it’s great. Once you install the software, you can just plug in and play and it records direct into your computer.
well thanks im going to be picking one up in a couple of weeks!
Yup I record using a Guitar Port. And I believe Rick uses a POD. AJ, that’s awesome that you’re getting one. You won’t regret it. Super cheap piece of equipment with a massive amount of features. Let us know how it goes when you get it!
Just got mine!!!! Ill keep you updated as to when i finish my first song!
I don’t use a guitar port, but I use a pocket POD. I use a 1/8″ to 1/8″ cord, one end goes into the line out on the pod and the other into my microphone slot. This is the only way I’ve been able to record with my pocket POD. When I plug it in with the USB cord the only thing I can do is transfer and tweak tones using the Vyztek thing.
How is line 6 guitar port with rifftracker doing? Cause I just bought mine.
