I just had a listen to ‘state of mind’.

Quite enjoyable. It’s rare to see a soloist of this genre who has such a great presence and feel for the guitar at the same time. This type of music isn’t my preference usually, but I can still Imagine going to see him if he ever came over this side of the earth.

He is great, I like his style and the way he expressions himself with help of instrument, but I must admit, the first time I saw him do that trumpet sound I was laughing šŸ˜‰ it really looks hilarious šŸ˜‰ . Stevie Wonder is maybe a lil too obvious influence in his songs, but he is without doubt greatly skilled and I love the way he harmonizes his singing parts with his guitar playing.

If I’m not mistaken, I think I got introduced to Raul when Rick Graham posted a link in the Petrucci forum ages ago.

This guy is simply amazing. His feel for music is so fresh and inspiring. I’d love to see him live one day.

Here’s the first link I saw of him, live on David Letterman: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzaClXAt3aY&feature=related

Hey Sean, you’re right I remember posting something a while ago and that was the first performance I saw of Raul and I was absolutely floored, I still am.

Thanks a lot for the links Richard, truly inspirational stuff!
