    Hey guys

I’m still working on album tracks to take to the studio as demos and this is the latest one called ‘Edge of the Earth’. It’d be great to get your thoughts on the music (first track in player)

    hope you like it

Love it Rick. Hurry up and get this album done man! šŸ˜€

Only thing I’d comment on is having more dynamics with the drums but I know that’ll naturally come when it’s tracked in the studio.

    Can’t wait man!

    Hi Rick, šŸ™‚

The new tune is SO COOL! šŸ˜‰ It rocks, it’s melodic, it has interesting rhythms! What more could you want? šŸ˜‰ It sounded like your “Gold Flaxwood Liekki?” Was it? Whatever you played, your sound was (As usual!) EXCELLENT! – You manage to strike that balance where your “Pinch-Harmonics” cut through with plenty of attack, but your overall tone has a nice smoothness on it’s edges (if that makes any sense to you?!?) Anyways, I’m sure it’ll be even better when you re-track it in “the studio.” Best of luck and see you around bro! šŸ˜Ž

Awesome, thanks a lot guys. Hahaha yeah, I can’t wait to hear Tom’s album too!

Sean – yeah, hopefully the drummer will come up with the goods when we go in the studio. He won’t leave until he has šŸ˜€

Cheers Bill, I actually used the Ibanez JS2000 for this one.

The tune is awesome. Love Insideout too. Every song on the player is great though. Frankly, I’d be disappointed if I were anything other than blown away by one of your tracks.

    No pressure, like ;).

    Max.

    Hey Rick,

I remember the tone you got quite a while back in one of your tutorials (I believe you did the Sfgoli – “Andromeda tutorial with your JS – if I remember correctly?) using that Ibanez JS-2000 and I loved it then too! I’m sure it’s mostly in your fingers/ears/heart anyways! That’s my prevailing theory about tone amongst AWESOME musicians (I’m clearly NOT included in this elite! – LOL! šŸ˜® šŸ˜® ;))

BTW, I think that Lyle Watt has gotten some excellent sounds out of his Ibanez-JS, and Joe “Satch” Satriani…well…we all know that Joe’s tone is OUTSTANDING! šŸ˜Ž

All of this having been said regarding tone & gear is all well and nice, but the MOST IMPORTANT THING is: The SONG – The SONG – The SONG! BTW, I’ve always felt that a big reason for Satriani’s success had MUCH MORE to do with his compositional skill and feel rather than his stellar chops! Yes, Joe can play of course, but there are literally THOUSANDS of guys with equal or better technique/chops! Joe’s feel and melodic sensibility connects with the average listener, IMO! You Rick, also have an excellent ear for melody, form, rhythm, feel, etc. WELL DONE, and it’ll be even better on the final mix/master! BTW Rick, your brother would be proud of that OUTRO, as you didn’t go the lazy FADE-OUT route! (LOL!) Wasn’t he the one who encouraged you to realize that the WHOLE-ARRANGEMENT is important right to the end?!? šŸ˜Ž
