    Hi Guys.

I have recently bought ab Ibanez RG1527 -seven string. The guitar is very well made but I wanted to install some different pickups than the factory ones. I decided on Dimarzio Air Norton in Neck and the D-sonic in bridge. But now I have a little problem. The guitar tech( a very accomplished guy) phoned me up today and said the D-sonic 7 is to big to fit into the body and that he has to drill the hole bigger. Has this happend to any of you guys? I thought they would fit no problem. And do you think it would have any affect on the guitar itself?

I’ve certainly heard of it happening quite frequently, especially in the world of 7-strings where rout sizes, pickup sizes etc. aren’t as standardised as in the 6-string world. I wouldn’t worry about it, it shouldn’t have any impact upon the guitar whatsoever as long as the guitar tech’s half decent.

    Thanks.
The tech is very good and was recommended to me by many people. I think I will tell him to just go ahead.
    Thanks again for the answer.
