Hey guys, just thought I’d share some clips from
my latest trip to Japan (Pics can be found on my MySpace). Here’s a funk/rock improvisation on a “strat”-type Flaxwood.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEZemwdLOxI&feature=PlayList&p=1A284BE6DDF96E81&index=2A tune called “Linearity”, which is actually based over a backing I
did for a lesson here on IG. Playing a prototype Jazz-Flaxwood with
the same P-90/Charlie Christian as my own new model.
It so happens that I didn’t bring any of my own guitars over there,
since they had a good selection to choose from, and the fact that any Flaxwood
anywhere in the world will play and sound the same down to a point.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41m_YJrlSIM&feature=PlayList&p=1A284BE6DDF96E81&index=1And here’s me slightly embarrassing myself by playing over the backing made famous
on youtube by the great Guthrie š
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6W3baPoSng&feature=PlayList&p=1A284BE6DDF96E81&index=4And to close, a older tune of mine, that usually still kicks at clinics
(Japanese ppl appreciate some up-tempo stuff =) NeoBlues

Hey Richard!
Great playing, as usual man! I wish I was there to see you play š . I really love your tunes. Funk rock improvisation is great, and I don’t think you should be embarrased by your playing over that fusion track, because it sounds really, really good. Wish you all the best!
Is there any chance of doing some shows in Denmark?
I watched all of these after you’d posted them!
Just fantastic playing dude! Especially on ‘Linearity’! Awesome tune and the prototype looks and sounds amazing. I may have to get one of those if it gets released!
Cheers mate for posting them!
Tom

Hey Tom Q, š
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I see a collaboration sometime in the future between you (Tom Quayle) and Richard Lundmark! That would be SO COOL!!! š
“Grooving shred-tinged fusion” being the common thread (NOT that you two necessarily sound alike, because you DON’T!) I just think your styles, areas-of-interest, and BOTH of your passions for quality “improvisation” (and I DO mean the developed artform of “on-the-spot composition” as opposed to some musicians’ tendency to “spew random licks in key!”) I’ve ALWAYS thought that you two in particular, are strong improvisers and continuing to work at (and subsequently develop) your respective improvisational skills.I firmly hope that my “musical match-making” foray comes to fruition someday!
Peace!

great playing man!!!
cheers!
Silvio G.Loved the videos and pictures Richard. Looks like you had a lot of fun too!
By the way, where did you get that jacket? I want it now! š
