Playing with Guthrie Govan in December!

Hey guys

Just wanted to let you know that Guthrie Govan is embarking on a mini European Tour during which he’ll be visting Lyon, France where I’ll be teaming up with him with my Band. There’ll be a clinic during the day and a full blown concert in the evening and we’ll be playing some of his Erotic Cakes tunes plus some Jazz standards. Should be awesome!!!

I’ll let you guys have more details as and when I get them. 🙂

Congratulations, Rick! That is going to be something. Your skill level on the guitar is such that you will hold your own, and be inspired by Guthrie at the same time. I would be happy just meeting him. Good for you!

It’s being arranged by Audio Tube Tech in Lyon. I’ve not been given details yet but I’ll let you know.

Definitely have this filmed if you can Rick. I’m sure it’ll be an incredible show. A very cool honor to play with Guthrie, and I’m sure Guthrie is very honored to play with you too.

Since it’s in December, do you think the beloved IG Santa will make a special appearance at the show? 😀 haha just kidding.

Rick, I’m so pleased for you man. You totally deserve the exposure this will give you 🙂
I might even consider flying over to watch that if I can get a cheap Easyjet flight.
If I can’t get over there I would also love to see clips, but we have to all respect Guthrie’s wishes about putting clips on YouTube. He’s extremely critical about his own work and likes to approve everything that goes up. Fingers crossed it will be a great gig though, you’re certainly worthy of collaborating with him dude 😉

Ah I wasn’t aware of that. Hopefully this show will be something he’d allow to be uploaded. I’d love to see some clips (or the show in its entirety) if possible!

Tom – I think Ed may be looking into a clinic in Leeds after Trev mentioned it over at the JP forum. If that’s the case, you’ve gotta get involved in that man! Jeez, I’m hoping for something a little simpler than that!!!!

Max – Yes there are dates in Germany, not sure when though.
