Guthrie played a full Erotic Cakes set last night at the Cornford 9th Birthday party in Guildford and the launch of their new Roadhouse range.
He was playing his new Modern and pulled out the Classic T for a couple of tunes. I think Paul Cornford said he was using the amp for all his gain (no pedals apart from a few for wild effects) and it sounded bloody marvelous!
Guthrie obviously has a great sense of humour as well as stupidly ridiculous musicianship – he built up a great rapport with the crowd and seeing him live just confirms to me that he is one of the biggest talents ever to pick up the instrument!
