Hey Julian
Some great playing there bro!
Listened to ‘Demo 1’ – I liked how creative you were with your ideas and you certainly have some chops man!
What are you using for recording – drums, guitars etc?@Rick Graham 3398 wrote:

What are you using for recording – drums, guitars etc?Hey Rick,
Thanks for listening, glad you liked it! Im just using a Zoom 808 digital 8 track recorder with onboard drum machine and guitar emulators. The guitar emulators are just ok but certainly good enough to put down ideas with – I have a Podxt which sounds much better but unfortunately with the Zoom you can only use the built in guitar sounds. I think with that track I used a Schecter Hellraiser 7 string – its an awesome guitar, Its the best guitar to shred on!!
Serious chops man and love the rhythm tone – nice and heavy! Dig it!
Listening to Demo 1 now and its really really good and you have some great chops as Rick said!! š
Demo 2 is awesome!! I like the breakdown section at 00:50 great playing there Julian šThanks for the kind words guys!
Liked it especially demo 2.Its got that great Thrash sound i like!
I’m definitely digging this stuff Julian. Great job! I really like what you have going on with “Unfinished” as well.
Keep it up!
SeanVERY impressive. It’s scary to think what you could do with a full band in a real studio.
Tone is good, even more impressive once I found out you’re using the Zoom’s built in sounds. The construction is very well done. The composition is melodic and expressive, while being interesting.
Demo 1 and 2 are great.
Something I noticed while listening to “Cell 1” that didn’t stand out so much on the other ones is that the rhythm guitars tended to make the song monotonous. Maybe once a drum track is laid down it’ll be better.
You’re much better than me so don’t think I’m attacking your playing or anything. I just figured you might want some constructive critisism.
Keep posting and I’ll keep listening.
I really like “Unfinished” btw. š

Hi Gollum, thanks for listening and your comments, I appreciate it. I agree with you about Cell 1, thats really only up there so our new drummer can get a copy to learn from – the song needs to be reworked and there are breakdown sections and dynamics that dont really come across from just the rythm guitars, hopefully these elements will come out with drums and bass added!
Cheers,
Julian
Hey, great stuff there! This is awesome! I like your heavy rhythm guitars, they sound really good.
The only thing that bothered me is the focus on the guitars. I mean, the drum tracks are decent but as a guitarist, I think you should put your mind into the other insturments more than the guitar! Or at least evenly. What you did isn’t bad of course, because those are your GUITAR compositions, but I think it is important to try writing creative stuff for other instruments too. Drums for that matter. Piano, saxophone, tubular bells, flute! If you will also listen to non-guitarists compostions (piano or flute or trombone or horn or sax or cello!!!) you could write better stuff for those instruments, and ALSO you can apply non-guitar techniques, melodies and concepts to your own GUITAR compositions. You can achieve creativity and innovativeness (is that a word??), and make your playing much, much more interesting.
I guess I got a little carried away.. sorry! hehe

Hi, thanks for your comments! I probably should have pointed out that these are by no means finished songs and are only rough guitar and drum tracks to record the basic idea. The main purpose was so I could play them to other people who might be interested in putting a band together. The finished versions of these songs will sound very different with full instrumentation ie – guitar, drums, bass, keys, vocals etc.
Cheers,
Julian
Wow..
Unfinished is really good man..
Great stuff man.
