I couldn’t remember if I had recommended this guy to my fellow IG’ers out here! I like this guy’s playing and writing. He’s pretty cool! He appears to be a young guy with a strong sense of melody, plenty of chops, an appreciation of the classic as well as modern playing techniques, and some nice tones! That’s a pretty good combination I would say! š
Anyways, here’s a few links for anyone who wishes to check him out:
I really enjoy Steffen’s playing. Heard about him a while back, and I think he’s very refreshing to listen to. Like you mentioned Bill, he’s got a great modern feel with a great sense of melody. Very cool stuff!
I think he is a fantastic player! I love what I’ve heard of him so far, really great feel and a real rawness to his playing that I love.
It’s very inspiring stuff and Bill I’m glad you posted it as I’m sat here in the studio practicing(the most uninspiring music) for a week long rehearsal starting tomorrow and this brought me back from the brink of depression…..
Thanks for the post dude!
This guy is f***in* good! I’ve actually seen some of his videos on YouTube before, but thanks Bill for taking the time out to post your selections.
The first thing which comes to my mind is syncopation. Or whatever that means (good control over notes?). Clarity is an enemy, they say! Fantastic music!
I really admire his playing. If I have any chance of getting cash soon, I’m gonna ask him for tutoring me. I wrote to him about it before and he is interested in teaching, so it’s just a matter of getting cash š .

Hey Marcin, š
That would be cool to get some lesons from Steffen!!! Wow! I’ll bet we could all learn a thing or two from Mr.Schakinger! He’s so diverse as I had said, which should lead to some interesting lesson material!!! š
