    I’ve been playing for 4 years. It will be 5 this Christmas, but I have not taken any formal lessons, or lesson at all for that matter, and I don’t know a scrap of music theory. I memorize where the notes are on the fretboard in certain scales and slowly learn to transpose them into different keys. To get stuff like this I just string together ideas randomly until I like the take I’ve recorded.
