Hello there, š
I think you did a good job there on the warm-up, although a couple of proper-stretches (before picking up the guitar) are in order to prevent tendonitis. Just ask Infinite Guitar’s fearless leader Sean Conklin if he thinks that pre-warmup stretching is important!!! He’ll tell ya! š® š
As far as your forthcoming legato section goes, be sure to clearly explain the proper mecahnics of a good pulloff technique! š Some sources weakly explain the pulloff as a hammer-on in reverse, and even though there’s a bit of obvious truth in that, such a gross simplification would certainly lead a beginner legato student down a road of “weak-ass” pulled-off notes! (LOL!) Ya know, explain the necessary “plucking-motion-toward-the floor” that the left-hand pulloff finger must do to get the lower-pitched/2nd note of the pulloff to have any volume that is even close to the volume of the higher-pitched/first/picked-note! Perhaps it might even be a good idea to make the beginner’s first attempts at pulling-off (as they pertain to a warm-up routine) pulloffs-to-open-strings. After all, those are a bit easier, since the lower-pitched note then doesn’t require fretting. Personally, I like ewarm-ups that are practical/applicable. Therefore, my idea about pulloffs to open strings might be cooler if they were suggested as a descending open/first-position “E” Pentatonic-Minor scale:
—3–0
3–0
2–0
2–0
2–0
3–0
* Clearly, the fretted-notes would be picked, and then there would be a pulloff to each subsequent open-string-note. š
Best of luck! š

thanks man…
I’d be sure to take that into consideration..
I wanna take some time with legatos..cuz I feel there are many ways to do it right and use it as a tool to building strength.. but there are also a million more ways to do it wrong..your reply was pretty helpful man… I might just copy paste someofthe stuff š :p

Hey wildguitark, š
That’s cool! You’re correct that there are many ways to do that stuff incorrectly! š® Anyways, I’m glad that you thought my reply could be helpful, and by all means,
“cut-and-paste” whatever you want! š Just “paying-it-forward” bro – (LOL!) š~Bill Meehan~ š
