The Seeker

In Exercise 1, we'll be learning the main riff of the song. This riff will be primarily played in the 2nd position.

There's going to be a good amount of palm muting in this song, so be mindful of all the "P.M." markings throughout the tablature. Make sure the distinction is perfectly clear with which notes you're palm muting and which notes you're playing normally.

If you look at the 3rd beat of every other measure, you'll notice that we have a significant bend on the A string. Using your ring finger, you'll basically be playing the C# note on the 4th fret, then bending a half step up to D, then immediately back down to the C#. So there are a total of three brief notes throughout the cycle of the bend.

Got it down? Well what are you waiting for? On to Exercise 2!
