In my other tutorials on motifs, they present rhythmic ideas in which you can build any structure on, such as harmony or phrases. When you listen to my improvisation demonstration, you'll see that there's not much going on harmonically or rhythmically at first, but as I get more comfortable, my rhythmic ideas develop into more of a "call-response" fashion. In other words, my initial ideas spring into life once I've solidified my ideas not only to the listener, but most importantly to myself. Thus spawning true "in the moment" ideas...
