Things to remember when playing pinch harmonics:
1. Pick through the string using your pick and the flesh of your thumb
2. Practice the pinch technique while playing lines
Keep up with this in your playing, have fun, and experiment with this technique. Be as wild as you want to be while being sensitive to your surroundings. This technique isn't for every musical situation, so remember to use your ears and be sensitive to the music surrounding you!
