Alright, let's get a bit of a feel of what it's like to use 16th note displacement accompanied by drums.
At the beginning of the video, you'll hear the high hats playing quarter notes. We're going to play straight 16th notes with our Low E string along with the high hats. Remember, you can think of a quarter note as a full beat. So since 16th notes are four notes per beat, you'll play four 16th notes with every high hat hit.
Next, you'll hear the full drumset kick in. You can hear how the bass drum plays the 16th notes on the first and third beats and is silent on the second and fourth beats.
Try playing along with the two exercises in the video, and be sure to count out loud.
