Hey guys!
Hope you’re all good.
I decided (was persuaded by my girlfriend!) to re-enter Guitar idol this year – yes I know I’m late entering!!
Here’s my entry
http://guitaridol.tv/heat_3/entry/chasing_beat
which you guys can all learn to play on this very site!!
I’d really appreciate any votes and hopefully we’ll manage to introduce a few new people to the awesomeness of Infinite Guitar along the way!
Thanks guys,
See you in the next lesson,
All the best,
Tom š

Tom, if you don’t get through Heat 3, there is really something wrong in this world.
You definetely get my vote!
And I hope to see you in the final again šThanks Max,
That means a lot. Were you at the finals last year?
No, I wasn’t at the finals š
I only watched the videos.
Slowly I’m getting nervous about the musikmesse tickets, gotta speak with the girl on wednesday again. Else I have to visit the musikemsse on the visitors day.
But whatever, the only thing I care about then is to visit Rick and you and of course the giveaways, lol šGood luck with the tickets, it’d be awesome to hook up whilst I’m there. I’ll be there with my mate George Marios – you have to check him out too – such an awesome player and he’s only 18 years old. Scary stuff!
Hopefully I’ll see you next week!
Tom
God luck at this years finals bro!
And killer tune too!
(I just wish that you would consider transcribing your improvisations in the future, and analyze them in-depth, I know at least I would love to see such an expansion of your already killer tutorials š A lot of extra work I know, but I believe that it is in improvisation-analysis our advanced members can learn the most )You’re quite right Richard! I’m certainly going to do this in the future. It’s a longer process than normal as I have to convert everything to standard tuning – all my improvisations are in 4ths tuning and many of the fingerings have to be changed for standard. I’ve always admired this in your tutorials!
Looking forward to your next one!!
All the best dude!
Tom
Hey Tom,
can you tell me the company of that you are presenting the guitars ?
I have to look up where stand is š
I already know where the Flaxwood stand is, I hope I will find it šWe’re demoing Fibenare guitars. I’m afraid I’m not sure which stand it’ll be at.
Check out my very good friend George Marios too and don’t forget to vote!

This was recorded using my Mesa Boogie Express head with the Toadworks Texas Flood and BB preamp in combination. I love this tone!
Ok, I found the fibenare stand š
I’m gonna listen to Georges entry tomorrow as I’m going to sleep now. Good night šTom, that’s such a groovy tune, a pleasure to listen at.
At 2:42 I sensed an amazing Dream Theater vibe, tho you probably pull your roots from somewhere else…Good luck!
And Georges entry is magnificent as well, knowing that he improvised that stuff.
Good luck too him also!
Love this tune Tom. Best of luck in Guitar Idol my friend!
Hey Tom, š
Awesome bro! I already voted for you. Cool tune! I especially like the “A-Section” and “C-Section.” The “B-Section”has some cool changes in it too, but I just think that “head” (in Part-A) and that “weird single-note riff” (in Part-C) are KICK-ASS! š
I might have to learn “Chasing The Beat” Tom…
P.S. Stay tuned for my posting of an improv-solo over your “Minor Blues Tutorial – Part 5” that you were nice enough to upload the backing-track to! (Man, do I need WORK at improvisation!!! Yikes!!!) Well, the only way to get better at improvising is to IMPROVISE MORE! Right?!? I’m a real genius, huh?!? (LOL!) As bad as my improv is, I’ll post it anyways… š® š
Best of luck in Guitar Idol 2009. BTW, George’s entry was cool (at times!) Very STRANGE at times too, but I can appreciate that! Atleast he’s NOT trying to sound like everyone else. That’s for SURE! (LOL!) š :p š® š
~Bill Meehan~ š
Voted for you! All the best!

RohanHey Pekki,
That groove you mention near 2:40 sounds more Greg Howe’ish to me than Dream Theatre, what do you think? A nice groove to learn though.
