So, here’s my take for the Gottardo guitar competition guys. It was a great track to solo over, truly masterful production by Daniele. Not at all my musical forté, but I figured I’d give it a shot anyway =) Unfortunately I managed to move my chair a bit when sitting down to record, which put me slightly out of focus, sorry about that guys.

For this video I used the PRS McCarty 58 Tobacco burst, through a Marshall JVM
(in standby/preamp out mode) into Recabinet 3 in Logic.

Sublime phrasing- beautiful and emotionally moving melody lines throughout. The muted percussive open was super clever to immediately take the listener to a rhythmic place right at the get-go- before easing us into the more fluid Howe-like technical line that immediately followed prior to the soaring melody. As with all great playing- you left me wanting to hear much more than 1:02 – exceptional development and supreme musicality here as always! Hope you win Richard! – and for the record I thought you totally nailed the style and “spirit” of the track.

Thanks a bunch JB! I have no illusions that I will win, or even end up top three :p
Saw this more as a personal challenge, and a good PR-opportunity 😉
I’m glad you liked it, and yeah I agree that a one min backing was a bit short,
but I think that the foresaw the amount of entries and decided to keep it short,
or they would have to take months to go through them all.

well, what a performance. It truly is one of the best performances I’ve seen. I wish there could have been more. Lesson on this now? 😛

    Wow, thanks man! =)
Had the backing track been mine and not Gottardo’s, I’d definitely been able to make a lesson out of it.
I’d might however transcribe and re-record it over the same chord sequence but my own backing, but there’s now way
I’d be able to re-create the amazing production and sound of Gottardo’s Sbrego 🙁
