Country Feel
Exercise 1:
Let's change gears a bit and try out some cool country rhythms. This one in particular can be played at various tempos and can work in many different (country) contexts. This rhythm of this exercise is "swung" by nature, and is demonstrated in the video. Analyze the moving bass note and be sure to cleanly express chord-verses-mute differentials. And remember, it's a 2-bar phrase!
Exercise 2:
Swung once more, exercise 2 offers more of a bluegrass esque snare-drum-meets-horn-section vibe. Play the demonstrated mute pattern before attacking this exercise, as doing this before attempting the actual rhythm should instill more confidence in the right-hand technique.
