Hey guys,
I've been on a hiatus from metal over the past while and decided to throw something a little different at y'all for this time - country lead playin'!
Country lead playing is something that has always boggled my mind and I've always tried to incorporate techniques, tricks and licks I've heard by some of these country shredders into my playing in other contexts, ie., rock, metal, etc. The etude I play here is just a few measures of licks to have fun with. Included with this lesson is a country G-chord jam track to exercise all of these licks at your own pace. I recommend going through the actual tutorial and breaking down some of these ideas before diving in too deep, but of course, it's up to you!
The techniques are universal in nature, but let's get down and dirty with some old school major-key bluegrass/country licks in the next video! Have fun!
